Hyzaar is an angiotensin II antagonist and thiazide diuretic combination used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Hyzaar works by blocking the action of certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels so blood flows more smoothly. The Hydrochlorothiazide component aids by causing the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into the urine.
